PBO Website Upgrade

PBO Website Enhanced

By Emmanuel M. de la Paz, MD, FPOA
PBO Trustee, Website Project Coordinator

Six months after going live, the PBO Website gets a fresh new look!

New Look
With improved technologies at hand and more experience in website development (the Board does its own publishing), the enhancements made are two-fold: firstly, an improvement in the interface, and secondly the addition of new features (a forums page and downloads of documents relevant to trainees and accredited institutions). The changes are in line with ongoing efforts of the PBO to continuously improve its services to its stake holders, including its own members.

In keeping with the original intention of improving information dissemination and communications with all stake holders, the addition of the forum page will facilitate off-site discussion of the Board pertaining to matters of importance to its functions. This is a realization of the suggestions of Drs. Ric Liwag and Danny Caro (incumbent Chairman and Secretary, respectively) who both wanted the ability to continue discussions on pressing issues that otherwise cannot be tackled during actual meetings. On certain issues, members of the community may be invited to take part. The first application of this feature is on the preparation of the 3rd edition of the Greenbook currently underway. A simple Blog feature will allow readers to post their thoughts about articles we write.

Old Look
In this enhanced version, a soft copy of the Greenbook 2ed (1998) is offered as a download along with the other forms the PBO uses. It came as a surprise during this year’s inspection of accredited training institutions that some have no copies of the latest edition of this training manual. Needless to say, many other information that is felt to be useful for endusers have been added.

The Board shall endeavor to continuously improved this website to meet its original goal. Any comments or feedback to the website are welcome!
